Details:

I have completely refurbished this optimod with new low ESR electrolytic filter and metal film decoupling capacitors on the power supply lines for all 7 cards along rear panel board see last image of replaced caps. As a point of convenience I replaced the 3 front panel hex screws with knurled for much easier access to inside, but will include original in case you wish go back.

It may be old but still has lots of life left in. This particular meter is sticky and difficult to zero out.

It is an older unit that performs well and sounds very nice if you don't push too hard trying to be the loudest densest signal on dial. The front panel rotary switch and all circuit card control pots were cleaned with exit f5 for smooth noise free operation. This unit is in nice condition and fully operational.

These seemed to be OK and did not exhibit significant leakage when checked. While it can hold its own if carefully adjusted, can't directly compete with the modern digital processors for sheer loudness and density. Access door key, maintenance extender card, and tweaking tool are included.

I replaced many of the audio path tantalum capacitors with non-polarized electrolytic or metal film types used at various inter-stage coupling circuits. This is an analog processor that 30 years old, and in its heyday was state of the art.

It is modestly large and heavy so the shipping charge commensurate for such an item using dimensional weight package pricing. The indication meters work as they should except bass gain reduction meter. Power cord not included.

Lastly, I replaced the older tl072 op-amps 32 of them used throughout all 7 cards with better lower noise higher slew-rate tle2072s for a touch added clarity and sonic sparkle. Afterwards it was given a full end to alignment and is now ready for service. This is a barefoot unit with no special options installed, but it does have the zero card option socket mounted and wired into chassis along guides.

In addition to the capacitor replacements I performed various circuit card component modifications bring all cards up standards closer later versions. However, I did not replace the very large rectifier output filter capacitors 5000uf. Up for sale is an Orban optimod-fm audio processor, model 8100A.
