Review BALDWIN Antique Type Headphones Untested Ham Amateur Radio Communication Applicable
They have no cracks or chips in the Bakelite. The cord has some wear and external fraying as depicted in photos, electronic attachments are on ends appear to have a solid connection. Expect some wear commensurate with age. The navy placed an order for Baldwins headphones, only to learn that was building them in his kitchen and could produce 10 at a time.
They have not been tested. Early in production the head harness was further improved and reduced to two leather-covered, adjustable wire rods. There may have originally been a cover attached to 'thingamabobs' that are still on the bands, but all is left as depicted in photos.
The band is solid and appears to be in good shape. A company named wireless specialty apparatus co.
This a fairly clean set of 1910 Baldwin radio company type c headphones that were owned by my uncle, veteran ham operator, k2eii.
